Principal Investigator: J. Allyn Smith
Program Title: Targeted Samples of the Hot Stellar Content in the Southern Sky

Institution: NOAO
Lead observer: J. Allyn Smith, Sahar Allam, Douglas Tucker
Observer email address: smithj@apsu.edu,sallam@fnal.gov,dtucker@fnal.gov

Instrument: Goodman HTS
Start Date: 2019-01-25
Camera: Blue Camera
Gratings: 400lines/mm ("SYZY_400")
Filters: None
Targets file:
Finder Chart file:
Finder URL: /public_calib/DESCalibObsRuns/SOAR-Jan2019/Targets/Targets.html
Special Instructions:
We request the Blue camera and the WD_400 grating
configuration for our program. In detail, this is
the setup we request:

---------------------------------------------------
Camera: Blue
CCD ROI Mode: Spectroscopic, 2x2
CCD Read: 200kHz ATTN 2
Mask: 1-arcsec slit
Grating: 400lines/mm ("SYZY_400")
Set Mode: 400_WD (400lines/mm, set for c. 3500A-7500A,
and scattered light feature moved to c. 3600A)
---------------------------------------------------

The target lists and finding charts can be found here:
/public_calib/DESCalibObsRuns/SOAR-Jan2019/Targets/Targets.html
Both the target lists and the finding charts will
likely be updated in the days before the start of
the run.

One observer (J. Allyn Smith) will be physically present at
the telecope. A small group of us will also be joining in
remotely from Fermilab. Since this program uses an almost
identical setup as for our gravitational wave optical
counterpart target-of-opportunity follow-up program
(PI: Marcelle Soares-Santos), we will take the
opportunity during this run to train some observers
remotely from Fermilab for the gravitational wave
follow-up program.
